  • TOUCH-PANEL FUNCTIONS [+]
The Switchpad™ touch-panel consists of two "Input Touch Pads" and four "Output Touch Pads" that represent their respective BNC connectors. There is also a "Lock" symbol and a Power/Data LED on the panel. In the center of each touch pad are LED's that designate its current status. Input touch pad #1 has one LED while input touch pad #2 has two LED's. These input LED's will illuminate only when a valid digital signal is input to its associated BNC connector, and the signal is locked. Each of the four output touch pads will illuminate either one or two of their LED's, representing the input signal (#1or #2) that has been chosen for that output. No LED's illuminated in an specific output touch pad means that the output signal to that connector is turned off or "muted".
    Switching an Output
Lightly touch the desired input touch pad, and its LED(s) will flash rapidly signifying its selection for routing. While the input is selected, just touch any or all of the desired output touch pads to route that selected input signal to those outputs. The input LED(s) will flash and its selection will remain active for four seconds after the last touch, at which time the input will return to its normal unselected state.
    Muting an Output
Holding your finger on any output touch pad for three seconds will turn off or "mute" that output. The designating LED's will extinguish, and no signal will be present on that specific output. To turn the output back on simply touch the desired input pad and then the muted output. The designating LED's will illuminate, and the signal will again be present at that output.
    Locking the Touch-Panel
There are many occasions when you may want to lock the touch-panel to avoid inadvertent switching of the Switchpad™. You can easily lock the touch-panel with the simple touch command of holding two fingers on both input touch pads simultaneously, and holding for three seconds. You will hear the Switchpad™ lock verification sound, and the lock symbol on the touch-panel will glow red. The Switchpad™ will not respond to any touch commands except for the unlock command, which is simply repeating the lock touch sequence.
    Muting the LED's
In some situations it may be desirable to extinguish or "mute" the blue designator LED's on the Switchpad™. The LED mute is similar to the lock touch command but instead of holding your fingers on the two input touch pads, the #3 and #4 output touch pads are held for three seconds. You will hear the Switchpad™ lock verification sound, the designator LED's will blink, and all designator LED's will extinguish. Any time you want to check the status of the Switchpad™ while the LED's are muted, just touch any of the touch pads and the designator LED's will illuminate for four seconds to allow a status check before returning to their muted state. Again, repeating the LED mute touch command will re-illuminate all the designator LED's and return the Switchpad™ to its normal state.
    Muting the Sounds
With every touch command, the Switchpad™ will respond with a verification sound. To mute these sounds, like the LED mute touch command it is simply a matter of holding the output touch pad #1 and #2. All verification sounds will be muted until you repeat the sound muting touch command.
  • CONTROL SOFTWARE [+]
Solid Devices' Switchpad™ Control Application allows flexible remote user control of one to four Switchpads™ simultaneously via USB. Using the optional link cable up to four Switchpads™ can be linked together, sharing both power and control data with no need for additional cables. The Switchpad™ Control App allows four user defined presets for each Switchpad™ and four global presets, allowing all the connected Switchpads™ to switch simultaneously. There are global controls for touch-panel lock, LED muting, and sound mute.
